Historical Growth of Congress
The following graphs depict the ever growing appetite of our government.
These graphs will clearly demonstrate the out of control growth of government, the question is why?
The answer is obvious – to buy as many votes as possible to stay in office.
This process began with FDR’s “reign” as president.
With each term he was re-elected he expanded the Executive Branch of the government.
And with his expansion of the Executive Branch came Congress’ expansion, constant growth and with that followed burdensome taxation and moronic federal spending that did more to expand government than serve the people.
And now with the presence of career politicians, the integrity necessary to make hard honest choices to best serve the American people now and in the future is lost – hopefully not for ever!
Enough editorializing.
Take a Look at the Facts and make your own decisions!
Annual Cost to Run Congress
Is it any wonder why our country is in such bad shape – $1.2 Billion as the basic cost for Congressmen and women, their staffs and expenditures! What about the rent and electrical bill, is there any money left, oh wait just print more!!!

Historical Table of Congressional Salaries – US House of Representatives
Until 1855, Congress didn’t think it necessary to even have a salary – They felt it wasn’t honorable. Now, our Congress with their salaries and pensions – live like KINGS!
Historical Growth of Staffers for a US Senator
If 22 staffers are unnecessary for a Representative then 34 staffers for a US Senator is beyond ridiculous. I guess since they act like Kings and Queens, they need their own court and jesters!

I’m not sure how to comment, why do they need 22 staffers? Do any of them actually work?
