Elections are just around the corner and the ongoing discussions that we’re having is – “who are you going to vote for?”

That is a great question, one that I’m asked daily.  My answer today is different than it has ever been.  It is time for a revolution – a peaceful revolution!  The power of our country is with the people (not government) and if we vote every single Senator and Representative out of office at each election – they just might get the message!  The founding fathers never expected politicians would remain in office for decades.  Otherwise, they would have put term limits in place within the Constitution for each branch of government.

“But I like my Senator and/or Representative, what then?”  I’m not saying that there aren’t a few good people in Congress, but in this case, it is better for us as a people to demonstrate solidarity and make our message heard.  If your Senator or Representative has character and integrity, then he or she should have no problem finding a job.

The problem is our Senators and Representatives are not interested in what is best for the country.  No, they’re focused on buying votes (why do you think there are so many entitlement programs) and getting re-elected.  They don’t want to make the hard choices because they might not be popular enough to get re-elected.

Only solution – vote them ALL OUT OF OFFICE!!!! The power of the people to have a peaceful revolution!

Well another month has gone by and still nothing has been done to control the out of control spending of both the President and Congress.

Amazing – how is it that the President thinks that forming a committee to study how to stop the ever growing national debt (therefore, increasing the payroll and adding to the debt) will somehow miraculously reduce the debt – idiot.

I don’t know about you folks, but at my house if the money isn’t there then we just don’t spend!  Or how about this, when we wanted or needed something and money was tight, then we would CUT BACK in other areas!! Hey, now that would be something new for the government – an extremely revolutionary idea!

Congress is so out of touch with the will of the people, I don’t even think that they even realize they are taking our money.

What do you call it when Congress and the President steal our money for their own personal and political gain – CRAP!

Common Sense –I guess it’s not so common

It seems simple – do the right thing, no matter what or how much it may hurt, because in the end the consequences may be dire and lead down a path that compromises the precious values that create our very foundation and principles.

I guess it’s not so simple. In reading Glenn Beck’s book Common Sense, this one paragraph struck me profoundly. He states:

“A critical moment in history has come; our Republic is in jeopardy. Can we keep it? If the answer to that question, as I fear, is “no,” then we have no one to blame but ourselves. For too long we have ignored, enabled, or embraced the flawed character of those we’ve selected to protect and defend our Constitution. By lowering our standards for them, we’ve lowered the standard for ourselves. We wanted a life of ease, a life of little consequence and high reward. To get it, we repeatedly empowered thieves, liars, and con men, simply because they promised us ease. Now, because we’ve trained them that repeated injury has no consequence, they’ve grown bold and fearless. When we do speak up, they ease our pain with pork, a steady stream of entitlements, and financial candy, and back to sleep we go. …. Common sense tells us this is national suicide.”

It is time to get back to the principles of honesty, integrity and frugality – even if it hurts! And we the people need to lead the way, because politicians won’t – they don’t have the integrity to do it!
